Rule of Law

Improving Legal Frameworks as They Pertain to the Rule of Law: The rule of law is frequently undermined by laws that cannot be implemented, or that nobody ever intends to implement. The Legis approach guides law makers to design laws, policies, and programs that are logically suited for achieving intended objectives and are designed via participatory processes that increase public pressure for implementation.

Creating Constituencies for Reform: Participatory Problem Solving processes create broad-based constituencies for reform. Our multi-stakeholder workshops typically produce unanimously supported legislative proposals, not by overlooking conflict and differing perspectives but by offering a way to bring all of these differences into a shared solution. The challenge is empowering elected representatives to communicate collaborative agreements their constituents in such a way that the constituents also join the reform coalition.

Tools: Our media programs and LegisX DSS are designed to bring a broader range of individuals into paradigm-shifting problem-solving processes. Legis also has experience co-designing behavioral change communication programs alongside community groups and training them to facilitate depolarized dialog sessions.
